Review of On Street Parking

Sunday 17th October

More good news for residents in my division!

County Council Officers have completed a review of on street parking in Surrey Heath and have identified changes in restrictions which will benefit road safety and should hopefully reduce instances of obstructions and localised congestion.

Again, these are not all my own work, but I have indeed pushed these along this summer after it was announced that not all of the measures would be undertaken owing to cost. I'm particularly pleased that we've managed to secure changes to the permitted parking time along part of Bagshot High St - although not quite as far as I'd originally requested - to assist the business owners*, and in Windlesham where a certain resident pointed out danger caused by inappropriately parked cars.

Herewith the list for our villages;

Bagshot
High St - Parking Bays (No.s 51-61) Increase in limit from 30m to 2 hours.
Church Road - Double Yellow Line Restriction for Road Safety.

Lightwater
Guildford Road - Double Yellow Lines (No.s 140 - 140a)
Guildford Road - Post office parking bay time extension

Windlesham
Church Road - Double Yellow Lines for Road Safety
Chertsey Road - Extend Yellow Lines by School Lane to Maintain sightlines.

If any readers have a particular road safety or parking concern, then please let me know about it. Budget permitting, it IS possible to make things happen.

* Thanks to Glyn Carpenter and the Bagshot Business Association (BBA) for bringing this particular matter to my attention.
