Ah yes the most pointless and worst signposted speed limit, and also one of the smallest ones I have seen. It's about half the size of the one in Ascot! I mean seriously, most of the people I have talked haven't even noticed it, and that includes the people who pass out whilst leaning on one of the signs outside the fighting cocks every Friday night!
As for red road, most people die because they are being stupid and don't pay attention and can't read the road conditions, and yes they should be prosecuted. But I see no reason to reduce the speed limit on that road. Also it's almost impossible for the police to enforce it anyway. Yes, my thoughts go out to the family of the jogger who died, but, and don't mean any offence by this, he was wearing earphones and probably couldn't hear a damn thing, and stepped on to the road in front of that poor lady.
