Post Election 'Thank You' Drinks.
Sunday 2nd August
Almost two months after the result and bang in the middle of the holiday season, my wife & I opened our house at the weekend for all of the local Conservative Election team!
Well attended by friends, mayors, councillors and branch members, the afternoon was more of an unofficial 'thank you' to members of the local branch election team rather than a celebration of electoral success; those members, who let's not forget are all volunteers and who do all of the otherwise thankless tasks that make an election campaign successful, from the canvassing all the way down to the 'envelope stuffers'.
So, on behalf of the Party, the Association and myself I'd like to once again say thank you to all of you- whether able to attend yesterday or not - for your continued efforts on our collective behalf.
Similarly, thank you to my wife Natalie for her ongoing support throughout this odyssey, and to yesterday's 'catering team' of Natalie, Lynne, Norma & Tony.
Finally - the Party is always on the lookout for members and volunteers. If you would like to be a part of the future of the Conservative Party, contact either myself, your branch chairman or your local Conservative Councillor about how you can help and get involved.
