Friday Night - Out & About with Camberley Police

Saturday, 21st March 2009

Following a lengthy meeting with our constituency MP, Michael Gove, I had the opportunity to spend several hours late on Friday evening/early Saturday morning with some of Surrey Police's local teams to experience at first hand the challenges they face while continuing to makes ours one of the safest areas in the country.

Generally, it was one of their quieter evenings in Surrey Heath but I did experience a number of encounters, including a number of people suffering from the after effects of drinking, some vandalism to shop fronts and even a chap caught short while searching for a loo!

My hat goes off to the police officers who have to work these shifts. Its a thankless task and I was most impressed to see the firm but courteous and patient manner with which they handled each situation.

They certainly have my support.

Thanks to PublicCCTV for the photograph.
